Optical Design and Analysis

I'm a full-time optical design consultant. I've been working as an optical engineer for 23 years.  Prior to that, I worked in related fields (e.g., ultrafast laser spectroscopy & photovoltaics) as a research scientist.  I have masters degrees in both physics and optics. My rate may be higher than some of the other freelancers, but I know what I'm doing, I have the right tools to move quickly, and my company is a legitimate U.S. business. I use Zemax OpticStudio Professional (currently licensed and supported). I have a small optical prototyping lab on-site. My capabilities include: lens design and tolerancing, laser beam propagation (single and multimode), head-mounted displays, stray light analysis, colorimetry, opto-mechanical system design and modeling with CAD import/export, polarization analysis, hologram modeling, GRIN media modeling, diffraction analysis, thin film coating modeling, modeling of complex sources and detectors, thermal analysis, and fiber coupling analysis.
